Visit by Cate Manning, Buckingham, Winslow and District ScoutsCate Manning from the Buckingham and area scouts gave a presentation explaining the extent of the scout movement in the local district. Scouts cover all age ranges from Squirrels, up to five years to Explorer Scouts aged fourteen to eighteen then Scout Network groups operate till the age of twenty-five. There is also a Special Educational Needs/Disabilities group. The district has several hundred scouts with forty-five to fifty in Winslow. Projects at the moment include raising £29,000.00 to send 36 scouts to Jamboree in Gdansk, Poland. We look forward to a closer relationship with the organisation as they will be assisting us at some of our future events. |

Winslow Big Society Film Show season has started. We were proud to help set up the equipment for the start of another season of films for the local community at the end of September and we have another planned for the 15th November. A great way to spend an autumnal afternoon watching a great film and a cup of tea and cake! (Ann was not telling someone to leave but pointing out the 'fire exits' during the mandatory safety briefing!) More details of future film shows to be shown on the 15th November from the Winslow Big Society Group |
