Who are the Lions Club of Winslow?

The Lions Club of Winslow was founded in 1982. Our 'Mother Club' was Lions Club of Buckingham and was formed due to the interest of Winslow residents wishing to start their own 'local' Lions Club.

Since then the club has grown to become one of the larger clubs in the Lion Region. Currently over 40 members we 'Pride' ourselves in having a good time raising funds or actually carrying out charitable duties in the local area. In our 2007/8 Lionistic Year (July to July) we raised over £ 20,000. We split the funds raised between - International, National and local charities (or individuals).

What is the Lions Club International organisation all about?

Lions are members of Lions Clubs International, a community service organisation dedicated to the idea that the local community are in the best position to know who needs help and why. Local Clubs are part of the world's largest such organisation, with 1.4 million members serving in more than 193 countries and areas.

The association is both non-political and non-sectarian.
